Here in the Children's Department the biggest news of the month is the appearance of a new book by Rick Riordan! If you don't recognize his name, you surely recognize his creation, the Percy Jackson, and The Lightning Thief series. Riordan drew on classical Greek mythology for Percy Jackson. 

His new book, The Red Pyramid, launches a new series that uses Egyptian myths. Siblings Carter and Sadie Kane witness the return of Set, the god of evil, to the modern world, and discover they are from a line of magicians harking back to the time of the pharaohs. This around-the-world adventure will delight Percy Jackson fans (and push them to higher reading levels) and win Riordan legions of new followers.
