NEIL SHUBIN
Tuesday, May 20
5:30 pm, Reception, University Club of Chicago
University of Chicago paleontologist Neil Shubin, author of the bestselling book Your Inner Fish: A Journey into the 3.5 Billion-Year History of the Human Body and host of the PBS miniseries of the same title, will speak about the history of the human body. From
the High Arctic of Canada, Shubin and his colleagues recovered fish
fossils, over 375 million years old, that tell of the great transition
from life in water to life on land. Shubin will tell the story of this
discovery and show what it means for understanding the human body.
