Rebecca Alexander tonight, March 19 @ 7 pm

Rebecca Alexander, a psychotherapist and extreme athlete who is almost completely blind and deaf, speaks about her book Not Fade Away: A Memoir of Senses Lost and Found. She tells the extraordinary story of the rare genetic mutation called Usher Syndrome type III she was born with and a shattering accident at age 18--and meditates on what she has lost and what she has found in return.

Rebecca is the sister of NBC News journalist Peter Alexander. Click here for a video of him interviewing her on the Today show.

Here she is with her mother Terry Pink Alexander (right), who will also be with her at The Book Stall tomorrow evening. We are pleased to co-sponsor the event with the Glencoe Public Library.
