Wednesday, March 4
Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Ave.
At two events, one downtown and the other in Winnetka, Chicago historian Sally Kalmbach speaks about her book Mrs. Thorne's World of Miniatures.
It's the story of the woman who gained worldwide recognition for the
hundreds of miniature rooms she created with such exacting detail that
they became educational tools for students of architecture and interior
design. The 68 of them that she left to the Art Institute of Chicago
have delighted generations of visitors.
For reservations to the Saturday luncheon, please call The Book Stall at 847 446-8880.
Ms. Kalmbach is appearing Wednesday as the featured speaker at the Winnetka Historical Society's Annual Luncheon. Tickets ($45 for members; $55 for non-members) can be reserved by clicking here.
