JEANNE BISHOP
Wednesday, March 18
7 pm at Sacred Heart Parish Center
1060 Gage St., Winnetka
Jeanne Bishop speaks about her powerful new book, Change of Heart: Justice, Mercy, and Making Peace with My Sister's Killer.
In it, she tells the story of her journey to confronting and
reconciling with the killer of her sister Nancy Langert, who was
murdered in Winnetka in 1990 along with her husband and their unborn
child. Since the murders of her
family members, Ms. Bishop has been a prominent advocate for gun
violence prevention, abolition of the death penalty, exoneration of the
innocent and the role of faith in the debate over executions. She is an
Assistant Public Defender in Cook County and an adjunct professor of law
at Northwestern.
This event, co-hosted with Sacred Heart and The Women's Exchange, is open to the public. No reservations necessary.
