David Prete, Author/Actor:
August and Then Some is David's second book of fiction. His critically acclaimed first book,
Say That to My Face was published by W.W. Norton in 2003. He is a graduate of the New Actors Workshop in NYC where he studied with Mike Nichols (Tony and Academy Award winning director of (The Graduate, Primary Colors) and George Morrison who also taught Dustin Hoffman, Edie Falco, Gene Hackman, and others. David co-founded NYC's Water Theatre Company where he worked as an actor and producer. He has also acted in independent films screened at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, the Long Island Film Festival, and the International Film Festival of NYC. He is currently pursuing his MFA in Directing at Northwestern. www.davidprete.com
Lawrence
Grimm, Actor: Lawrence is a co-founder and ensemble member of A Red Orchid
Theatre Company. He has also appeared locally at Steppenwolf, Lookingglass,
Collaboraction, Raven Theatre, Famous Door, and The Piven Theater
Workshop. A graduate of
DePaul University's School of Education, he teaches drama at ChiArts. In
New York, Mr. Grimm taught at the Lincoln Center Institute, Roundabout Theatre,
Arts Connection and Theatre for a New Audience.
