We're continuing our Summer Fun activities in our Children's Department this week with Avengers Assemble! on Thursday, July 12, from 3 - 4 pm. We're calling all Marvel Superhero fans to watch some clips from movies,

test their knowledge of the Avengers and others, and work on writing and illustrating a superhero idea of your own.  We'll celebrate Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, the Black Widow, Hawkeye, and other heroes -- as well as some dastardly Marvel villains.  Limit 20.  Recommended for ages 8-10.

We're delighted to offer a Pete the Cat Celebration on Tuesday, July 17, from 3-3:45 pm.  It's a storytime focused on everyone's favorite laid-back blue cat.  Join  us for some video clips, reading, and singalong fun with Pete. Each guest will get one of Pete's groovy buttons. Limit 24. Recommended for ages 3-5. 

 

Don't miss Super Sleuth Day with Fancy Nancy on Thursday, July 19 from 3-4 pm.  Nancy Clancy (aka Fancy Nancy) has entered the chapter book era with her new book, Nancy Clancy, Super Sleuth. Join us for sleuthing activities based on our famous and fancy heroine.  Fancy attire optional.  Limit 15. Recommended for ages 7-9.  

On Tuesday, July 24, from 3-4 pm, come on in and Act Out! with our favorite local storyteller and drama teacher, Lucia Luckett-Kelly. A frequent guest at The Book Stall, Lucia will host an interactive story-drama workshop for kids ages 5 to 8. They'll listen to stories, actively participate in the telling, and learn how to share tales of their own. Limit 12.
